Ms. Liza Vachtsevanou has been working at the Bissell Library since 2002. She started as an Administrative Assistant and now is the Library Operations Coordinator

Horizon Library Management System (LMS)
The new Horizon LMS replaced the older Equilibrium software (used in the previous location), in an effort to offer a better student experience
AMICAL Consortium membership
The first planning meeting for the establishment of the American International Consortium of Academic Libraries (AMICAL) in Paris was attended by Ms. Karen Bohrer. The Bissell Library has been an AMICAL member since then
Information Literacy Program initiated
The Bissell Library has been teaching Information Literacy (research skills) since 2005. The pilot program consisted of two sessions where students learned how to use the Bissell Library and its extensive print and online resources
Committee for the Support of Libraries—Collection Analysis Project
The Committee (OEEB) was established in order to support library professional development needs in the Northern Greece. Member institutions were Goethe Institut, ATEI-TH, Municipal Library of Thessaloniki, ACT, and AFS

Choice Cover—New Members
A Bissell Library photograph was featured on the cover of CHOICE magazine, April 2007. CHOICE is a monthly review magazine published by the Association of College Research Libraries specifically to support undergraduate collections

Facebook page launched—New Director
The Bissell Library launched its Facebook page to better connect with its audiences

Anatolia Archives & Special Collections is established at the Bissell Library
Volunteer Nancy Birk, emeritus archivist (Kent State University) organized the Anatolia College archives
Professional development: AMICAL conference, CLIR workshop, & ACRL Immersion
The Bissell Library hosted the OEEB conference on “Web 2.0 and beyond for libraries”
Europeana—Website—Inventory
400 historical photos of Anatolia College digitized and uploaded on DSpace and Europeana, the EU Web Portal with collections from 3,000 European institutions
Website created by library staff,was launched and embedded on ACT’s website
Library collection inventory project
Koha—Events Space—Interim Director
Koha Library Management System replaced Horizon. The project was undertaken and completed by library staff in collaboration with the IT director, Mr. Vasilis Karkampounas
A permanent event space established at the upper level of the Bissell Library (audio/screen system and stage installations)

The Bissell Library started to collect student Theses with the hope to build an Institutional Repository
Prof. Christine Bruce, Academic Program Director and senior member of the School of Information Systems at QUT Australia and world expert in higher education in Information Literacy teaching, learning and research, was the keynote speaker
140 people from 25 institutions attended the AMICAL Conference, organized by and hosted at the Bissell Library
Library Roles and Policies Revisited—Website Services Expansion
Mr. Jeff Smith, school librarian from Middlesex School, MA, joined us for his sabbatical and helped Evi Tramantza on the role descriptions, new policies, Archives collection descriptions, and website content over six months
The Bissell Library website was revamped and the Learning Hub and Archives Websites were created, improving the visibility of our collections and services
Library services expanded: borrowing of equipment, laptops, coffee machine, free printing, Study Skills, Librarian/Faculty Development, and Well-being collections. Also new signage in the Library
Dedication of Event Space to Mr. Stavros Constantinidis and Mr. George Bissell to celebrate their friendship, shared values, and love for Anatolia
A quiet space was created with glass doors
2 library staff received grant to attend the American College and Research Libraries teaching Immersion program which informed our Information Literacy provision
The Merzifon Wing, the Museum of Anatolia, with its secure display bookshelves and cases, offers the opportunity for our archival exhibitions and was made possible by the Three-Generation Anatolians
723 students from 18 public elementary schools participated in the Bissell Library training program promoting reading
